Recovery Month

August 15, 2012, by Aquila Recovery Clinic

Recovery Month, a national celebration of recovery from addiction, began in the mid-1990s when few Americans believed stable, long-term recovery was possible.

Recovery Month has become an occasion for those of us in long-term recovery to demonstrate that recovery is possible – even probable – given effective treatment.

This September, Aquila Recovery joins the DC recovery community in celebrating and raising awareness throughout the Washington region of the possibility of hope and recovery.

Celebrate with us at our Open House, Wednesday, September 12, from 2 to 6 pm. Our special guest will be William G. Borchert, author of When Love Is Not Enough, the story of Lois Wilson, co-founder of Al-Anon. He also wrote and directed the 1989 film, My Name Is Bill W., the story of Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.

We hope to see you there!
